Brief of Company Background
In 1966, Eka Sentosa (+) and Darmawan Putra Totong opened a small paint shop sized 40 sqm at Jalan Gajah Mada 56, Jakarta. This paint shop called Toko Tjat Sentosa which sold decorative paint products. As the business evolves, the shop started selling a greater variety of products, including ceramic tiles, and other accessories of building materials. In 1970, Budyanto Totong and Totong Kurniawan joined in the business with their brothers and launched aggressive plans as they saw an opportunity to expand the business beyond merely selling the products. This is the beginning of the building material distribution business. As the distribution business grew rapidly, the need for a modern management approach became inevitable, and led to the establishment of PT Catur Sentosa Adiprana (""CSAP"") in December 1983. In 1997, Budyanto Totong saw an opportunity in modern retail business and soon began introducing ""One Stop Shopping"" concept of building materials to the Indonesian market with brand Mitra10. The business development is aimed to catch the opportunities presented by the changing shopping trends from traditional retail to modern retail, to strengthen synergy with the Principals, to establish cash transaction base, and to gain higher profit margin. With continuing growth and development, the Company strengthened its equity structure through Initial Public Offering. The Company was listed at Indonesia Stock Exchange on December 12, 2007 and has since become a member. The Company has reached its goal to become the leading company with the best management in paint and building material distribution. Currently, CSA is a public company which operates 41 distribution branches, 5 chemicals distribution branches, 11 consumer goods distribution areas, 20 Mitra10 outlets, and 9 Atria showrooms throughout the country. The Company employs more than 5,000 employees, and distributes more than 27,000 product items from more than 350 principals.
