Brief of Company Background

Founded in 1990 by the Lippo Group under the name of PT Tunggal Reksakencana, the company was established specifically for the development of a new satellite town in Karawaci, Tangerang, West Java. Since its inception, the name of the company has changed three times, first to Prudential Land Development, then Lippo Village, and finally in 1995 it adopted the name Lippo Karawaci. The new town, previously named Lippo Village and now known as Lippo Karawaci, stands on a 500 hectare site with a wide range of facilities, such as a shopping center, office buildings, a hotel, educational facilities, a hospital, entertainment center, and sports. Marketing of the property began in 1993. Besides selling homes, the company also sells subdivisions and offers services for home construction on these subdivisions. By February 1996, a total of 1,876 properties or 1,319 homes and 557 subdivisions have been sold. So far, about 61.3 hectares have been used for home construction and site development. In addition, the company built the 67 hectare Imperial Club Golf Course, and the commercial area has a golf estate, island condominium, apartments and townhouses, schools, a hotel, a hospital, and office properties. The company’s shares were initially listed on the Jakarta Stock Exchange and Surabaya Stock Exchange on June 28, 1996.
