Jakarta - PT Bank Negara Indonesia Tbk posted a profit growth for the year attributable to owners of the parent entity in the first semester of 2021 by 16.25% to Rp4.887 trillion from the same period last year of Rp4.204 trillion.

The company's financial report published on Wednesday (18/8), the strengthening of profit for the year was supported by the increase in interest income and net premium income by around 16.35% to Rp18.949 trillion from Rp16.285 trillion.

Operating profit also strengthened by around 11.86% or from Rp6.129 trillion to Rp5.479 trillion.

However, operating expenses other than net interest jumped 18.63% to Rp12.819 trillion from Rp10,805 trillion.

As of the first semester of this year, BNI's total assets reached Rp852.497 trillion, with liabilities of Rp740.445 trillion and equity of Rp112.051 trillion. Total cash and cash equivalents at the end of the period were recorded at Rp129.730 trillion.
