On Friday (6/8), the rupiah exchange rate is predicted to experience pressure to 14,370 per US dollar level, with potential support in the range of 14,300 per US dollar.

"The movement of the rupiah exchange rate is still overshadowed by the tapering issue at the end of the year raised by the Deputy Governor of the US Central Bank, Richard Clarida at an online event on Wednesday. This issue has made other exchange rates, including the rupiah depressed against the US dollar," said Money Market Observer Ariston Tjendra in Jakarta.

However, Indonesia's better-than-expected results of GDP growth in the second quarter of 2021 could contain the weakening of the rupiah.
