PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) and Genting Oil Kasuri Pte Ltd (GOKPL) agreed to establish a cooperation in the sale and purchase of natural gas from the Kasuri block for the ammonia-urea and methanol plant in West Papua.

The gas supply volume is around 112.6 MMSCFD for the ammonia-urea plant and 109.3 MMSCFD for the methanol plant.

President Director of Pupuk Indonesia, Bakir Pasaman, said that with this agreement, Pupuk Indonesia could obtain a guaranteed gas supply to meet the needs of the Ammonia-Urea and Methanol plant project in West Papua, the Pusri 3B fertilizer plant, as well as meet the gas supply for the existing factory.

The project to establish an ammonia-Irea and methanol plant in West Papua will have a production capacity of 1.15 million tons of urea and 1 million tons of methanol. Thus, this factory is expected to reduce dependence on imports.
