Indo Tambangraya Projects Coal Price above US$100 per Ton in 3rd Quarter


Jakarta - PT Indo Tambangmegah Raya Tbk (ITMG) projects the average selling price (ASP) of coal in the third quarter of 2021 to reach three digits.

"For the third quarter of ASP, we actually saw that in July the price was approaching three digits or US$ 100 per ton. August is already around US$110 per tonne and September will be higher than August. So, in the third quarter, ASP will be above 3 digits," said ITMG Marketing Director Jusnan Ruslan through a virtual public expose on Tuesday (7/9).

According to him, the increase in coal prices momentum continued in the second quarter of this year, mainly driven by strong demand accompanied by tight supply. ITMG's ASP in the second quarter was US$80.3 per ton or grew 18% QoQ.

"Therefore, China and Japan will remain our export markets, and are committed to meeting the domestic coal demand (DMO) of around 25% by the end of this year," he said.
