Gold Price May Strengthen on Falling US Treasury Yield

Gold price on Thursday (3/6) has the potential to strengthen by moving in the range of  US$1,880-US$1,920  per troy ounce.

Commodity Observer Ariston Tjendra said that the strengthening gold price was triggered by the correction in the yield of US government bonds with a tenor of 10 years to below the range.

"US yields are in the range of 1.59% this morning. In addition, expectations of rising inflation and the lockdown situation due to the increase in cases of global COVID-19 transmission also helped strengthen gold prices as a safe asset," he said in Jakarta.

Market participants will be wary of the release of US employment data, weekly unemployment claims, and private company ADP payrolls data for May, as well as US service sector activity index data for May.
