Chandra Asri Petrochemical's CAP2 Plant to Reduce Imports 70% in 2026


PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical Tbk (TPIA) hopes that the development of the Chandra Asri Perkasa (CAP) 2 plant can reduce dependence on imported petrochemical products by 70% by 2026.

Director of Human Resources and Corporate Affairs and Corporate Secretary Chandra Asri Suryandi said that Indonesia is still adopting 60% of the demand for petrochemical products.

"With the additional capacity of the CAP 2 factory, we are optimistic about the conditions and are able to meet 70% of these needs. Meanwhile, one of the products that will be produced by CAP 2 is a naphtha cracker," he said on Thursday (12/8).

Based on data from the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin), naphtha crackers from domestic factory production only reach 900,000 tons per year, while domestic demand is 1.6 million tons.
