Jakarta - PT Bakrie Sumatera Plantations Tbk (UNSP) posted a net profit attributable to owners in the first quarter of this year of Rp24,510 billion, compared to a loss in the same period last year of Rp310.870 billion.

The success of making a profit was driven by high net sales of around 51.26% to Rp1.192 trillion from Rp788 billion in the company's financial report released on Wednesday (13/7).

The company also managed to reduce the rate of foreign exchange losses by around 83.68%, bringing Rp69.787 billion down from Rp427.679 billion.

Unfortunately, UNSP's cost of goods sold jumped by around 52.19% to Rp925.371 billion from Rp608.023 billion.

As of the first quarter of this year, UNSP's total assets reached Rp8.257 trillion, with liabilities of Rp15.140 trillion and a capital deficiency of Rp6.883 trillion.

The company recorded the position of cash and cash equivalents at the end of the period at Rp366.335 billion.
