PT Unilever Indonesia Tbk (UNVR) recorded a decline in sales in the first three months.

The company engaged in the consumer goods sector with the largest market capitalization value pocketed Rp10.28 trillion in revenue.

Unilever's revenue fell 7.80% compared to the first quarter of last year, which reached Rp11.15 trillion. Sales pressure came mainly from the household and personal care segments.

Based on Unilever's financial report published on Thursday (29/4), the home and personal care segment sales fell 12.63% to Rp 6.85 trillion in the January-March 2021 period. In the first three months of last year, this segment generated revenue of Rp. 7.84 trillion.

Meanwhile, the food and beverage segment, or foods and refreshments, actually increased 3.62% to Rp 3.43 trillion from the previous Rp 3.31 trillion. However, the increase in the food and beverage segment has not held back the decline in total income.
