Gold Price Seen in Pressure as US Bond Yield Rebounds

The price of gold on Monday (12/4) has the potential to experience pressure by moving to the support range of US$1,730 per troy ounce.

"The movement of gold prices will still be affected by the yield on US government bonds, especially tenors of 10 years," said Commodity Observer Ariston Tjendra in Jakarta.

At the end of last week, better than expected US producer price index data for March pushed back the increase in US treasury yields, putting pressure on gold prices.

As for tomorrow, the US will release data on consumer inflation indicators. If the release is better than predicted, Treasury yields could rise again.

"Therefore, the possibility of rising gold prices today will be delayed awaiting the release of this data. Rebounding treasury yields are also still holding back the strengthening of gold prices," he said.
