Tax Incentive Bolsters ASII's Car Sales

Jakarta - The increase in the performance of the automotive sector of PT Astra International Tbk (ASII) was driven by the provision of sales tax incentives on luxury goods.

Director of Astra International Gidion Hasan said the increase in national car sales performance was due to the incentive of the relaxation of the luxury goods tax program.

"For retail car sales in Indonesia this year before the PPnBM relaxation was around 50,000 units per month on average. After the relaxation of luxury tax, the average is 70,000 units per month," he said in Jakarta on Friday (10/9).

According to Gidion, his party was greatly helped by the PPnBM incentives issued by the government.

"Previously, Astra's retail sales were 25,000 units per month and after the incentives were 38,000 units per month," he explained.

The financial performance of the automotive division this year scored a significant increase compared to last year
