First Session, JCI Rises 0.92% to 6,335


The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) at the end of the first session today, Thursday (18/3), strengthened 57.72 points or 0.92% to 6,334.95.

Of all traded stocks, 231 stocks rose, 208 stocks fell, 177 stocks were unchanged. The total volume of transactions reached 11.55 billion shares with a market turnover of Rp6.25 trillion.

Nine sectoral indices tracked the rise in the JCI. The biggest gains in a row were the miscellaneous industry sector which rose 3%, and the basic industry sector rose 1.6%, the infrastructure sector increased 1.55%. and the manufacturing sector was up 1.32%

Furthermore, the financial sector rose 0.89%, the mining sector rose 0.78%, the consumer goods sector rose 0.57%, the plantation sector strengthened 0.12, and the trade and services sector edged up 0.10%.

Only the construction sector weakened after dropping 0.24%.

Meanwhile, among the top gainers in the LQ45 were PT Indah Kiat Pulp and Paper Tbk (INKP), which rose 5.84%, PT Indo Tambangraya Megah Tbk (ITMG) rose 3.62%, PT Astra International Tbk (ASII) rose 3.14%.

The stocks that included the LQ45 top losers were PT Bank Tabungan Negara Tbk (BBTN) which fell 1.56%, PT Wijaya Karya Tbk (WIKA), decreased 0.86%, PT Medco Energi International Tbk (MEDC) was down 0.79%.

Foreign investors recorded a net buy of Rp240.39 billion in all markets. The stocks with the largest net purchases by foreigners were PT Astra International Tbk (ASII) as much Rp55.7 billion, PT Bank Mandiri Tbk (BMRI) 33.3 billion, and PT Bank Negara Indonesia Tbk (BBNI) Rp32.6 billion.

The stocks with the largest foreign net sales were PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) amounted to Rp67.6 billion, PT Bali Bintang Sejahtera Tbk (BOLA) Rp51.9 billion, and PT Bank Jago Tbk (ARTO) Rp25.3 billion.
