First Session, JCI Falls 0.44% to 6,330


The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) in the first trading session today, Monday (15/3), fell 27.95 points or 0.44% to 6,330.25.

226 stocks rose, 220 stocks fell, and 184 stocks were stagnant. The total volume of transactions reached 11.91 billion shares with a transaction value of Rp6.49 trillion.

Six sectoral indices fell along with the JCI. The deepest fall in a row was in the mining sector, which declined 1.44%, the infrastructure sector lost 0.83%, while the basic industrial sector was down by 0.81%.

Furthermore, the financial sector corrected 0.80%, the construction sector fell 0.26%, and the manufacturing sector fell 0.11%.

Meanwhile, four other sectors managed to strengthen. The biggest gain was in the print plantation sector, which rose 1.50%. Followed by the miscellaneous industry sector, which rose by 1.28%, trade and services increased by 0.62%, and the consumer goods sector rose by 0.02% this afternoon.

Meanwhile, the top gainers in LQ45,  among others, PT Indofood CBP Sukses Makmur Tbk (ICBP), rose 2.99%, PT Ace Hardware Indonesia Tbk (ACES) was up 2.19%, PT Adaro Energy Tbk (ADRO) increased by 2.07%.

Stocks among the LQ45 top losers were PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTM), which fell 4.96%, PT Jasa Marga Tbk (JSMR) slipped 3.80%, PT Pabrik Kertas Tjiwi Kimia Tbk (TKIM) was down 3.09 %.

Foreign investors recorded a net sell of Rp30.61 billion in all markets. The stocks with the largest foreign net sales were PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) worth Rp44.5 billion, PT Pabrik Kertas Tjiwi Kimia Tbk (TKIM) Rp18.9 billion, and PT Bank Jago Tbk (ARTO) Rp17.7 billion.

The stocks with the largest foreign net purchases were PT Bank Negara Indonesia Tbk (BBNI) amounted to Rp51.9 billion, PT Digital Mediatama Maxima Tbk (DMMX) Rp46.9 billion, and PT Adaro Energy Tbk (ADRO) Rp37.0 billion.
