PT Sampoerna Agro Tbk (SGRO) recorded significant growth in profit for the period attributable to owners of the parent entity in the first semester of 2021 by 39.741% to Rp386.86 billion compared to the same period the previous year, which was only Rp971 million.

The company's financial report released Friday (30/7) showed the increase in profit was supported by sales growth of around 66.41% from Rp1.60 trillion to Rp2.66 trillion.

Finance costs also decreased by around 24.94% from Rp174.92 billion to Rp131.28 billion. Financial income also more than doubled to Rp5.31 billion from Rp2.57 billion.

Unfortunately, the cost of goods sold jumped by around 45.50% to Rp1.79 trillion from Rp1.23 trillion.

Until the end of June 2021, SGRO's total assets were at Rp9.63 trillion with liabilities and equity of Rp5.44 trillion and Rp4.18 trillion, respectively.
