Semen Tonasa, PLN in Cooperation to Utilize Electricity

PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, through its subsidiary PT Semen Tonasa, signed a Supplement to the Power Purchase Agreement (SPJBTL) for the progressive incentive captive program.

President Commissioner of PT Semen Tonasa, Benny Wendry said, this cooperation was the first step in a joint effort to provide added value for both parties.

"We hope that this synergy and collaboration can run well and can become a model to be implemented in other operating companies of Semen Indonesia Group," he said in Jakarta on Wednesday (17/3).

The cooperation includes the transfer of electricity from PT Semen Tonasa from the PT Semen Tonasa PLTU 1X25 MW plant to become PLN's service through a progressive incentive captive program by utilizing the optimization of PLN's electricity supply.

"This will increase electrical resistance and increase competitiveness in the midst of an increasingly competitive cement industry," said Benny.

Meanwhile, the President Director of PT PLN, Zulkifli Zaini, said that PLN has an obligation to meet electricity needs and provide the best service for customers, including industrial customers.

"This cooperation will provide benefits for both parties. PLN can carry out its obligations to fulfill electricity and increase revenue. At the same time, for Semen Tonasa, it has the potential for greater savings so that it can increase its capabilities and reduce the risk of environmental impacts from its operations," he said.

In addition to the cooperation in providing electricity, PLN will provide FABA from PLTU Punagaya free of charge for six months to PT Semen Tonasa.
