Semen Baturaja Sets Strategies for 2021


State-Owned Enterprises in the infrastructure sector, PT Semen Baturaja Tbk has prepared three strategies to spur performance in 2021. The strategies are; product quality policies that adapt to customer needs, continuity of supply such as fleet readiness to buffer stock in strategic sales areas, and sales derivative products, such as white clay, cement mortar.

The company with the issuer code SMBR scored a 20 % increase in revenue in the first quarter of this year to Rp 394 billion. The company's sustainability of cost efficiency was also able to reduce the cost of goods sold by 21%, while the net profit reached Rp17.9 billion.

As a state-owned company in the Sumatra region, the company could maintain sales growth to meet demand in the South Sumatra, Jambi, Lampung, Bengkulu, and Bangka Belitung regions. In the first quarter of 2021, cement sales in Sumatra rose 22% to 452,931 tons.
