Jakarta - PT Semen Baturaja Tbk focuses on strengthening the company's internal foundation to improve performance this year.

"Our strategy in 2021 is not based on increasing sales, but improving internal conditions," said SMBR Finance Director M. Jamil in an online exposure presentation on Tuesday (7/9).

Jamil said this strategy is related to the COVID-19 pandemic, which has been going on since 2020, has had a significant impact, especially on the cement industry. Thus, the government's budget is focused on the health sector and social assistance, and the occurrence of an oversupply of cement.

"Strengthening the internal foundation is carried out by cost leadership, improving or improving best practice in terms of operations in factories and fields, making system improvements both in management and digitizing processes," he explained.
