The rupiah exchange rate on Tuesday (6/7) is predicted to strengthen limitedly against the US dollar, with the potential for appreciating to the range of 14,450 per US dollar.

"The effect of the US employment data, which was below market expectations, gave rise to the perception that the US Central Bank would maintain a loose monetary policy for a longer period of time, still triggering the weakening of the US dollar against other exchange rates, including the rupiah," said money market analyst Ariston Tjendra in Jakarta.

However, the increasing rate of new COVID-19 cases in the country is still a depressing factor for the rupiah.
