Rupiah Seen Down on Concerns Over New Cases of COVID-19


The rupiah exchange rate on Thursday (15/7) is predicted to be depressed due to increasing concerns by market players about the increase in new cases of COVID-19 in various countries in the world, including Indonesia.

"Emergency activity restriction PPKM which has the potential to be extended is a concern for market players. Obviously this can suppress Indonesia's economic growth rate," said Money Market Observer Ariston Tjendra in Jakarta.

As for the potential for the weakening of the rupiah towards 14,520 per dollar, with support in the range of 14,460 per US dollar.
