The rupiah exchange rate (exchange rate) on Wednesday (30/6) is estimated to continue to weaken against the US dollar.

"The potential for weakness is in the range of 14,500 per US dollar, while the potential for support is in the range of 14,450 per US dollar," said money market observer Ariston Tjendra in Jakarta.

According to Ariston, the improving data on the level of US consumer confidence released last night provided a catalyst for strengthening the US dollar.

The rapid economic recovery in the US will support a change in its monetary policy towards a tighter direction.

In addition, the market is still waiting for US employment data to be released on Friday this week. The market estimates that this data will be better than projections.

Good US employment data will confirm the potential tightening of US monetary policy shortly.
