BRIS Rights Issue Receives 1.4 Times Oversubscription


Jakarta - PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BRIS) recorded excess demand through additional capital with pre-emptive rights of 1.4 times.

"The rights issue that we carried out went smoothly and the absorption of shares by both domestic and foreign institutional investors as well as the public was very good, where there was oversubscribed or oversubscribed shares issued 1.4 times at the time of the offering," said Main Director of BSI Hery Gunardi through a press release on Thursday (12/29).

He added that this corporate action not only succeeded in increasing the free float under applicable regulations but showed more substantial investor confidence in the company's actual performance.

In this rights issue, Bank Mandiri, as the owner of 50.83% of the company's shares, exercised all Pre-emptive Rights. Meanwhile, PT Bank Negara Indonesia Tbk, which owns 24.85% of BRIS shares, has exercised some Pre-emptive Rights or 500 million shares.
