Jakarta - PT PP Tbk (PTPP), through a consortium, will continue developing the Mempawah Smelter Grade Alumina Refinery (SGAR) project, West Kalimantan.

The smelter project, which has a capacity of 1 million tons per year, is one of the national strategic projects undertaken by the China Aluminum International Engineering Co. consortium. Ltd. (Chalieco) and PTPP.

The Mempawah SGAR project, owned by PT Borneo Alumina Indonesia (BAI), was built with the aim that Indonesia can carry out the process of processing bauxite into aluminum so that in the future, Indonesia will no longer depend on other countries.
