PT PP (Persero) Tbk, through its associate entity PT Celebes Railway Indonesia (CRI), will build Makassar-Parepare public railway infrastructure located in South Sulawesi Province.

This step was marked by the signing of a senior term loan syndication facility and musyarakah mutanaqisah financing between PTPP, PT Indonesia Infrastructure Finance (IFF), PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (Persero), and PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk on Thursday (3/6).

The Makassar – Parepare Railway line construction project is the first railway construction project in Indonesia that uses a government cooperation scheme with Business Entities (KPBU) and a service availability payment scheme.

The railway line is targeted to operate commercially in 2022 to serve South Sulawesi Province, including five regencies or cities, namely Maros Regency, Pangkajene Regency, and Islands, Barru Regency, Makassar City, and Parepare City.
