PTBA Cooperates with INKA to Work on Electric Mining Vehicles


Jakarta - PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) synergizes with PT Industri Kereta Api INKA to develop electric-based mining vehicles.

The signing of this memorandum of understanding / MoU will be followed by forming a team and preparing a comprehensive joint study related to the development of environmentally friendly electric-based mining vehicles.

"One of them is by directing mining operational vehicles to switch to electricity. This is an opportunity for us to develop, rather than having to buy or import. So we can reduce imports as much as possible," said Bukit Asam President Director Suryo Eko Hadianto in a statement in Jakarta on Wednesday (8/12).

Suryo hopes that the signing can be immediately followed up to the next stage by the end of 2022, so they can start developing a vehicle prototype.

Meanwhile, INKA President Director Budi Noviantoro said that this collaboration was based on the expertise of each company.
