PGN Commits to Optimize Natural Gas Usage


Jakarta - PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGAS) is committed to optimizing the use of natural gas during the fossil fuel transition to new renewable energy (NRE).

President Director of PGN M. Haryo Yunianto said that as Pertamina Gas subholding, the company continues to intensify investment through expansion of natural gas infrastructure to create guarantees of more effective and efficient natural gas access.

"The first investment is gasification or conversion of oil to gas for Pertamina's refineries and is a priority program from Pertamina that is run by the gas subholding," he said in his statement in Jakarta on Tuesday (12/9).

The gasification consists of five refineries, Cilacap in Central Java, Balongan in West Java, Dumai in Riau, Balikpapan in East Kalimantan and Plaju in South Sumatra. The total potential volume is around 90 BBTUD, or equivalent to 16,400 BOEPD.
