Perusahaan Gas Supports Energy Transition

PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGAS) predicts the need for gas as clean energy will increase in the next 15 years.

PGN's Director of Strategy and Business Development Heru Setiawan said the projected increase in gas demand was driven by regulations from the government that made natural gas more important as an energy transition from fossil fuels to environmentally friendly energy.

Along with the steps of the Paris Agreement, the demand for renewable energy will increase.

"There is an increasing demand for gas energy from both the retail and commercial sectors and wants clean and low-carbon energy. With so many requests, it can bring in many investors, along with the use of low carbon technology," he said in a statement in Jakarta, Thursday (1/7).

According to Heru, the use of natural gas in Indonesia has begun to be on a massive scale, one of which is through the gasification program by converting fuel to gas in 52 power plants. H
