President Jokowi: Indonesia Economy Seen at 5.3% in 2023


Jakarta - President Joko Widodo said economic growth in 2023 is estimated at 5.3%.

"We will do our best to maintain the sustainability of strengthening the national economy," said Jokowi in his speech on the submission of the bill on the State Budget for Fiscal Year 2023 along with a Financial Note in front of the Plenary Meeting of the Indonesian House of Representatives on Tuesday (8/16).

He emphasized that global uncertainty should not make all parties pessimistic. Indonesia has cultivated substantial capital in the last eight years to create a more conducive development ecosystem.

"Indonesia is appreciated as one of the countries that managed to overcome the pandemic and recover its economy quickly. Indonesia's economic recovery is on track to grow 5.01% in the first quarter and significantly stronger to 5.44% in the second quarter of 2022," he explained.
