BPS: Indonesia Trade Surplus of US$7.56 Billion in April


Jakarta - The Central Statistics Agency BPS announced that Indonesia's trade balance in April 2022 returned a surplus of US$7.56 billion, mainly from the non-oil and gas sector of US$9.94 billion.

"Meanwhile, in the oil and gas sector, there was a deficit of US$2.38 billion," said BPS Head Margo Yuwono on Monday (17/5).

He detailed that the value of Indonesia's exports in April 2022 reached US$27.32 billion, an increase of 3.11% compared to exports in March 2022. Compared to April 2021, the export value grew by 47.76%.

Non-oil and gas exports in April 2022 reached US$25.89 billion, up 3.17% compared to March 2022 and up 47.70% compared to non-oil and gas exports in April 2021.

"Cumulatively, the value of Indonesia's exports from January to April 2022 reached US$93.47 billion, an increase of 38.68% compared to the same period in 2021. Meanwhile, non-oil and gas exports reached US$88.73 billion, an increase of 39.12%,
