Indonesia Posts Trade Surplus of US$1.32 Billion


The Central Statistics Agency BPS announced that Indonesia's trade balance in June 2021 was a surplus of US$1.32 billion.

"Because the value of our exports is higher than imports, where exports were recorded at US $ 18.55 billion compared to our imports of US $ 17.23 billion," said Head of BPS Margo Yuwono in a press conference live streaming on YouTube, Thursday (15/7).

He added that Indonesia's non-oil and gas trade surplus by country was the United States with a surplus of around US$341.0 billion, followed by the Philippines at US$649.7 billion and Malaysia at around US$322.3 billion.

"Meanwhile, Indonesia's trade balance has a deficit to China of around US$603.2 billion. To Australia, Indonesia also experienced a deficit of US$474.6 billion and to Thailand, Indonesia was US$330.6 billion deficit," he explained.
