Indonesia's Trade Balance Surplus US$1.02 Billion in December


Jakarta - The Central Statistics Agency BPS announced that Indonesia's trade balance again recorded a surplus of US$1.02 billion in December 2021.

"During these 20 months, Indonesia has always experienced a surplus. The highest surplus occurred in October 2021, which reached US$5.74 billion, " said Head of BPS Margo Yuwono in an online press conference on Monday (17/11).

He added that the realization of an export value of US$22.377 billion and imports of around US$21.356 billion made the surplus in December 2021.

"Meanwhile, throughout 2021, there will also be a trade balance surplus of US$35.34 billion. Compared to 2020 and even up to 2019, the 2021 trade balance is the highest in the last five years. We hope that we can improve this trend, " he explained.

In detail, the 2021 trade balance will record an export value of US$231.540 billion and imports of US$196.196 billion.
