Indonesia Books Trade Surplus of US$5.09 Billion in June


Jakarta - The Central Statistics Agency BPS announced that Indonesia's trade balance in June 2022 recorded a surplus of US$5.09 billion.

"This surplus comes from the non-oil and gas sector of US$7.23 billion. However, it was reduced by a deficit in the oil and gas sector of US$2.14 billion," said BPS Head Margo Yuwono virtually on Friday (7/15).

Margo detailed that the value of Indonesia's exports in June this year reached US$26.09 billion or grew 21.30% compared to exports in the previous month of the same year. However, compared to June 2021, the export value grew by 40.68%.

"Cumulatively, the value of Indonesia's exports for the January-June 2022 period reached US$141.07 billion or grew 37.11% over the same period last year," he added.

Meanwhile, non-oil and gas exports were recorded at US$133.31 billion, an increase of 37.33%.
