As of September, Indonesia Posts Trade Surplus of US$4.99 Billion


Jakarta - The Central Statistics Agency BPS announced that Indonesia's trade balance in September 2022 recorded a surplus of US$4.99 billion.

"This surplus mainly came from the non-oil and gas sector of US$7.09 billion. However, it was reduced by a deficit in the oil and gas sector of US$2.10 billion," said the Head of BPS, Margo Yuwono, virtually on Monday (10/17).

He detailed that the value of Indonesia's exports in September this year reached US$24.89 billion, up 10.99% from exports in the previous month in the same year. However, compared to September 2021, the export value grew by 20.28%.

"Cumulatively, the value of Indonesia's exports for the January-September 2022 period reached US$219.35 billion or grew 19.26 percent over the same period last year," he added.

Meanwhile, non-oil exports in September this year were recorded at US$23.48 billion, down 10.31 percent compared to last August but up 19.26 percen
