BPS: Indonesia Posts US$4.23 Billion Surplus in July


Jakarta - The Central Statistics Agency BPS announced that Indonesia's trade balance in July 2022 recorded a surplus of US$4.23 billion.

"This surplus mainly came from the non-oil and gas sector of US$3.71 billion. However, it was reduced by a deficit in the oil and gas sector of US$3.08 billion," said BPS Head Margo Yuwono virtually, Monday (8/15).

According to Margo, the value of Indonesia's exports in July this year reached US$25.57 billion, an increase of 2.20% from exports in the previous month of the same year. However, when compared to July 2021, the export value grew 32.03%.

"Cumulatively, the value of Indonesia's exports for the January-July 2022 period reached US$166.70 billion, an increase of 36.36% over the same period last year," he explained.
