BPS: Indonesia Posts Trade Surplus of US$4.37 Billion in September


Jakarta - The Central Statistics Agency BPS announced that Indonesia's trade balance in September 2021 returned to a surplus of US$4.37 billion.

"Indonesia's trade balance in September 2021 experienced a surplus of US$4.37 billion, mainly from the non-oil and gas sector of US$5.30 billion, while in the oil and gas sector there was a deficit of US$0.93 billion," said Head of BPS Margo Yuwono in a virtual press conference on Friday (15/10).

He detailed that the value of Indonesia's exports in September 2021 reached US$20.60 billion, down 3.84% compared to exports in August 2021. However, compared to September 2020, the export value increased by 47.64 percent.

Non-oil and gas exports in September 2021 reached US$19.67 billion, down 3.38% compared to August 2021, but grew 48.03% compared to non-oil and gas exports in September 2020.
