Gold miner PT Merdeka Copper Gold Tbk (MDKA) maintains its continued growth performance and continues the pre-feasibility study for the potential of the Tujuh Bukit Copper project, which contains 8.7 million tons of copper and 28 million ounces of gold resources.

"This project has the potential to increase consolidated income, EBITDA and profit in 2021, which is also contributed by the increase in copper production from the Wetar Copper Mine," said Merdeka Copper Gold Vice President Director Simon James Milroy on Thursday (27/5).

This year, the company targets to produce 100,000 to 120,000 ounces of gold and 14,000 to 17,000 tons of copper.

As for the first quarter of 2021, Merdeka Copper Gold has produced 16,585 ounces of gold and 2,489 tons of copper, a significant increase compared to production in the fourth quarter of 2020 of 5,355 ounces of gold and 1,017 tons of copper.
