Lost in London Arbitration Court, Garuda Must Pay Rent


Jakarta - PT Garuda Indonesia Tbk announced that the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA) has handed down an arbitration award in the case of a lawsuit from lessors Helice and Atterisage (Goshawk) against the company regarding the payment of aircraft rental fees.

The LCIA rendered an arbitration award which essentially stated that Garuda was required to make rental payments for the aircraft lease and obligations under the lease agreement, payment of late interest, as well as payment of the plaintiff's court fees.

"Furthermore, regarding the decision, Garuda is coordinating with the lawyers who handle this case to consider the next steps the company can take," said the Director of Finance & Risk Management Prasetio in the IDX information disclosure on Thursday (9/9).

He ensured that the decision would not have a direct impact on Garuda's operational activities.
