Krakatau Steel, Inerco Sign Cooperation Deal Worth Rp4.8 Trillion

PT Krakatau Steel (Persero) Tbk (KRAS) signed a cooperation agreement with PT Inerco Global International (Inerco) to support infrastructure projects which are currently starting to resume running after being stalled due to the pandemic.

"This is a strategic partnership with Krakatau Steel for a period of three years with a cooperation value of Rp. 4.8 trillion," said Krakatau Steel Commercial Director Melati Sarnita in Jakarta on Wednesday (31/3).

With this cooperation, Melati hopes that it will boost the company's sales performance.

"Inerco is a business entity engaged in the trading of steel products, the steel industry, oil, and gas. This certainly makes Inerco a potential partner for Krakatau Steel, "he explained.

Meanwhile, Inerco's Managing Director Hendrik M. Kawilarang Luntung revealed that this strategic cooperation was one of the starting points after the steel industry had been sluggish during the pandemic.

"Hopefully we can mutually develop the progress of the company for both parties," he said.
