Krakatau Steel Books Net Profit of US$32.7 Million in First Semester


PT Krakatau Steel Tbk, in the first semester of 2021, posted a net profit of US$32.7 million.

"We continue to maintain the positive trend of Krakatau Steel through increasing export sales. We also maintain business development through the establishment of the Krakatau Infrastructure Subholding, Steel Business Subholding, as well as the development of downstream programs and digitalization development," said Silmy Karim, President Director of Krakatau Steel, in a statement in Jakarta, on Friday (30/7).

According to Silmy, the company has restructured its debt worth US$2.2 billion in January 2020 and managed to record a profit in 2020 after eight years of losses.

Throughout 2020 Krakatau Steel has made much progress, including production achievements, corporate restructuring, strengthening performance through transformation, and success inefficiency.
