Bakrie and Brothers Net Loss Swells 139% to Rp111 Billion in Jan-Jun


Jakarta - PT Bakrie and Brothers Tbk (BNBR) recorded a jump in losses attributable to owners of around 138.64% to Rp110.875 billion in the first semester of 2022 from the same period last year of Rp46.461 billion.

The company's financial report released on Thursday (9/1) showed that this swelling loss was caused by the high net other expenses of about ten times or from Rp10.928 billion to Rp107.913 billion.

The cause of the increase in net other expenses was the foreign exchange loss suffered by the company amounting to Rp66.321 billion and the emergence of other expenses of around Rp3.819 billion.

In addition, the cost of revenue increased by around 22.75%, to Rp1.052 trillion from Rp857 billion.

Operating expenses increased by around 2.72% to Rp213.767 billion from Rp208.087 billion.

However, BNBR achieved an operating profit of Rp27.619 billion, compared to the previous loss of Rp26.573 billion. Net income grew by around 24.66
