JCI Tracks Rise in Global Markets


Jakarta - Positive sentiment in global and regional markets has triggered the strengthening of the Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) at the opening of trading on Thursday (9/29) by 19.52 points.

"With sentiment from global and regional exchanges, today we estimate the JCI will move higher," said PT Samuel Sekuritas Research in Jakarta.

Meanwhile, JCI opened up 19.52 points (0.28%) at the opening of trading on Thursday to 7,096.55. Meanwhile, the leading stock index or LQ45 rose 3.85 points (0.38%) to 1,017.35.

For global conditions, US stocks closed higher overnight, including the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) rising 1.9%, the S&P500 increasing 2%, and the Nasdaq rising 2%, rebounding after a decline in the previous few days.

This strengthening also occurred in line with the announcement from the Bank of England. The UK central bank plans to buy government bonds to stabilize the currency.
