JCI Tracks Rising Global Markets


Positive global sentiment and rising commodity prices triggered the Jakarta Composite Index (JCI), strengthening at the opening of trading on Thursday (3/6) by 7.28 points.

"JCI will continue to strengthen today, supported by positive market sentiment and rising commodity prices," said PT Samuel Sekuritas Research in Jakarta.

As for the opening of trading on Thursday, the JCI rose 7.28 points (0.12%) to 6,038.86. Meanwhile, the leading stock index LQ45 climbed 1.72 points (0.19%) to 905.96.

US stock markets closed higher overnight for global conditions, including the Dow Jones rose 0.07%, the S&P500 rose 0.14%, and the Nasdaq rose 0.14%.

Market movements tended to be quiet in early June due to market participants' concerns regarding the possibility of rising US inflation and the steps the Fed will take in this regard.

Investors are also still waiting for the release of employment data to be released this weeken
