First Session, JCI Rises 0.81% to 5,896


The Jakarta Composite Index in the first trading session today, Monday (31/5), strengthened 47.17 points or 0.81% to 5,895.79.

Of all traded stocks, 281 shares rose, 208 stocks fell, and 143 stocks were stagnant. The total volume of transactions reached 12.64 billion shares with a transaction value of Rp7.76 trillion.

The strengthening of the JCI was in line with movements in the majority of sectoral indices. The biggest strengthening occurred in IDX Infrastructure, which jumped 2.53%. Followed, IDX Transportation rose 2.22%, IDX Basic Materials rose 1.05% and IDX Finance rose 0.95%.

Furthermore, IDX Properties rose 0.72%, IDX Industrial rose 0.68%, IDX Technologies rose 0.62%, IDX Healthcare gained 0.60% and IDX Consumer Cyclical rose 0.55%.

Meanwhile, IDX Energy became the sectoral index with the deepest weakness after weakening 0.71%, followed by IDX Consumer Noncyclical, which fell 0.15%.
