JCI Opens up, Tracking Rise in Global Markets


The Jakarta Composite Index at the opening of trading on Monday (5/7) was up 1.16 points, tracking the strengthening of global markets.

"In the begining of implementation of the emergency community activity restriction (PPKM), the JCI is expected to move mixed in today's trading," said PT Samuel Sekuritas Research in Jakarta.

Meanwhile, at the opening of trading on Monday, the Indonesia Stock Exchange opened up 1.16 points (0.02%) to 6,024.17. Meanwhile, the leading stock index LQ45 rose 0.19 points (0.02%) to 851.72.

On the global, US stocks closed higher with the Dow Jones Index rose 0.38%, the S&P 500 rose 0.52%, and the Nasdaq rose 0.13%.

Starting trading in the second half of 2021, the S&P 500 Index again touched a record high, driven by strengthening energy stocks.

While most Asian bourses this morning opened in green territory, the Nikkei index rose 0.2%, and the Kospi Index rose 0.16%.
