JCI Opens Lower Tracking Global, Regional Markets


The Jakarta Composite Index at the opening of trading on Monday (19/7) opened lower by 9.54 points tracking corrections in global and regional markets.

"Today, we expect the JCI to move lower following the movements of the US and regional stock markets," said PT Samuel Sekuritas Research in Jakarta.

At the opening of trading on Monday, the JCI fell 9.54 points (0.16%) to 6,062.97. Meanwhile, the leading stock index LQ45 weakened 2.08 points (0.24%) to 845.07.

For global conditions, at the close of last week, the US market was corrected, the Dow Jones index fell 0.86%, the S&P500 fell 0.75%, and the Nasdaq fell 0.80%.

Behind the decline in the US stock market index, the yield on the 10-year US treasury also fell to 1.29% at the close of last Friday, indicating the possibility of investors shifting to assets with lower risk.

While this morning, the majority of regional stock markets opened lower, with the Kospi down 0.75%
