JCI Opens Higher, Shrugs Off Record in COVID-19 Cases


The Jakarta Composite Index at the opening of trading Thursday (24/6) opened up 17.54 points, shrugging off new record pressures for daily COVID-19 cases.

"The new record of daily COVID-19 cases in Indonesia that was recorded yesterday may also be a depressing factor for the economy and the stock market," said PT Samuel Sekuritas Research in Jakarta.

Meanwhile, at the opening of trading this Thursday, the Indonesia Stock Exchange opened up 17.54 points (0.29%) to 6,052.08.

Meanwhile, the leading stock index LQ45 rose 4.21 points (0.49%) to 863.82.
