JCI Opens Higher, Shrugs off Increasing Covid 19 Cases


The Jakarta Composite Index at the opening of trading Monday (14/6) opened higher by 15.3 points amid concerns that market participants would increase the number of COVID-19 cases.

"The Indonesian stock exchange is expected to tend to weaken, due to investor concerns about the increase in COVID-19 cases," said PT Samuel Sekuritas Research in Jakarta.

The JCI at the opening of trading on Monday opened up 15.3 points (0.25%) to 6110.8. Meanwhile, the leading stock index LQ45 rose 4.21 points (0.47%) to 905.86.

Regional conditions opened mixed, with the Kospi index flat 0.04% and the Nikkei rising 0.8%.
