JCI Closes Down 0.51% at 6,277


At the end of trading today, the Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) at the end of trading today, on Wednesday (17/3), fell 32.47 points or 0.51% to 6,277.23.

Of all traded stocks, 194 stocks rose, 266 stocks fell, and 174 stocks were unchanged. Total volume reached 17.26 billion shares with a market turnover of Rp10.04 trillion.

Seven sectoral indices fell along with the JCI. The plantation sector recorded the deepest decline, 1.25%. The trade and services sector fell 1%, the financial sector slid 0.95%, the construction and property sector slipped 0.47%, the consumer goods sector was down 0.40%, the mining sector and manufacturing declined 0.08% and 0.07%, respectively.

The three sectoral indices were strengthening until the market close. Miscellaneous industrial sector rose 0.33%, infrastructure sector rose 0.23%, basic industrial sector rose 0.18%.

Meanwhile, the stocks among the LQ45 top gainers were PT PP Tbk (PTPP) which rose 4.82%. PT Erajaya Swasembada Tbk (ERAA) gained 4.43%. PT Wijaya Karya Tbk (WIKA) was up3.58%.

The stocks among the LQ45 top losers included PT Ace Hardware Indonesia Tbk (ACES), which tumbled 3.81%, PT Bank BTPN Syariah Tbk (BTPS) fell 3.44%, PT Pakuwon Jati Tbk (PWON) dropped 3.39%.

Foreign investors recorded a net buy of Rp191 billion in all markets. The stocks with the largest foreign net purchases were PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTM) worth Rp69 billion, PT Timah Tbk (TINS) Rp60.4 billion, and PT Bank KB Bukopin Tbk (BBKP) Rp46.5 billion.

The stocks with the largest foreign net sales were PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) Rp99.3 billion, PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk (BBRI) Rp52.1 billion, and PT Vale Indonesia Tbk (INCO) Rp42 billion.
