JCI Closes Down 0.16% at 6,248


The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) at the end of trading today, Monday (8/3), fell 10.28 points or 0.16% to 6,248.46.

Two hundred twenty stocks were up, 255 stocks weakened, and 159 stocks were unchanged. The total transaction volume reached 25.81 billion shares with a total market turnover of Rp10.85 trillion.

Although the JCI fell, only four sectors declined at the close. The mining sector recorded the deepest decline, a 2.59% fall, the consumer goods sector fell 0.52%, and the financial sector fell 0.43%, the manufacturing sector slightly weakened 0.05%.

Whereas the plantation sector shot 2.11%, the infrastructure sector rose 0.73%, the trade and services sector strengthened 0.68%, the miscellaneous industry sector rose 0.57%, the basic industrial sector increased 0.31%, the construction and property sector up 0.21%.

The shares among in the top gainers in the LQ45 were PT AKR Corporindo Tbk (AKRA) which rose 9.41%, PT United Tractors Tbk (UNTR) gained 7%, PT Mitra Keluarga Karya Sehat Tbk (MIKA) was up 6.99%.

The stocks among the LQ45 top losers included PT Vale Indonesia Tbk (INCO), which fell 6.21%, PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTM) declined 5.79%, PT Semen Indonesia Tbk (SMGR) decreased 2.46%.

Foreign investors net bought of equities worth Rp469.63 billion in all markets. The stocks with the largest purchased by foreigners were PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) Rp307.9 billion, PT Bank Mandiri Tbk (BMRI) Rp61.5 billion, and PT Vale Indonesia Tbk (INCO) Rp60.2 billion. 

The stocks with the largest foreign net sell were PT United Tractors Tbk (UNTR) amounted to Rp112.4 billion, PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk (BBRI) Rp45.6 billion, and PT Telkom Indonesia (TLKM) Rp38.5 billion.
