JCI Closes 0.28% Higher to 6,377
The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) closed up 17.55 points or 0.28% at 6,376.75 levels at the end of trading today.
The increase in four of the ten sectors supported the JCI to strengthen today. The industry, finance, mining, and infrastructure sectors, which each gained 1.68%, 1.16%, 0.23%, and 0.18%, respectively.
Meanwhile, the JCI was depressed by a decline in six sectors, including basic industry, trade, consumer goods, and manufacturing.
Of the composite, 212 stocks ended rising, 268 stocks weakening, 160 stocks were unchanged. The total trading volume reached 27.06 billion shares with a market turnover of Rp 12.58 trillion.
Meanwhile, the top gainers in the LQ45 included, PT Media Nusantara Citra Tbk (MNCN) which rose 3.64% to Rp1,140, PT Erajaya Swasembada Tbk (ERAA) rose 3.47% to Rp2,680, PT Sarana Menara Nusantara Tbk (TOWR) rose 3.27% to Rp1,265.
Among the LQ45 top losers were PT Summarecon Agung Tbk (SMRA), which fell 3.30% to Rp880, PT Semen Indonesia Tbk (SMGR) fell 3.21% to Rp11,325, PT PP ( Persero) Tbk (PTPP) slid 2.97% to Rp1,635.
Foreign investors booked a net buy of Rp522.99 billion in all markets. The stocks most bought by foreigners were PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA), amounting to Rp253.1 billion, PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk (BBRI) with IDR127.4 billion, and PT Telkom Indonesia Tbk (TLKM) IDR78.5 billion.
Meanwhile, foreign investors net sold of PT Bank Negara Indonesia Tbk (BBNI) worth Rp73.5 billion, PT Indofood Sukses Makmur Tbk (INDF) Rp22.9 billion, and PT Indofood CBP Sukses Makmur Tbk (ICBP) Rp21.6 billion.
